Ian J. Benjamin

President

Ian J. Benjamin and his wife, Deborah Benjamin Karpatkin, have been members of Stephen Wise Free Synagogue since 1984. Their children, Rebecca, Daniel, and Anna have all become bat– or bar–mitzvah in the synagogue.

Ian was elected President of the synagogue in June, 2004 and has previously served as Vice President and as a member of the Board of Trustees. He has served as chair of the Israel and Religious School committees and has been a member of the Budget and Social Action committees.

Outside of the synagogue Ian is an audit partner in the not–for–profit services group of Goldstein Golub Kessler LLP and a managing director of RSM McGladrey, Inc. Ian is a native of the United Kingdom where his family were members of a progressive congregation north of London.
