The SWFS Religious School brings your child into a wonderfully warm Jewish learning environment.
Positive connections to Judaism, the Jewish people, and to the synagogue community are formed, laying an important foundation for the development of a strong Jewish identity later in life. The SWFS Religious School Program provides age appropriate opportunities for your child’s Jewish learning from ages 5-18.
We focus on the importance of building a supportive learning community for students, teachers and families. We offer many opportunities for families to join together for Jewish learning and experiences. Our program allows students to make friends while building a positive connection to the synagogue and to the Jewish people in a setting that they know and feel comfortable in. Jewish education is a partnership with the entire family and we understand that family education is an integral part of developing Jewish identity.
Stephen Wise Free Synagogue utilitizes the Union for Reform Judaism's (URJ) CHAI Curriculum. Learn more about our curriculum, view our Parent Handbook, or call the Religious School office for more information!
We look forward to accompanying you and your family on this Jewish journey.
ENROLLMENT
Every family must hold membership in the synagogue and every child must be registered in order to attend Religious School. Forms are sent to parents during the Spring.
Students who are new to the school will be placed in the grade concurrent with their secular school grade. Parents and their children should make an appointment with the Director of Jewish Learning, Evita Sokol, to discuss the school’s programs and plans for each student.
If you have a concern about fees, please discuss this in confidence with Evita Sokol or with the synagogue’s executive director, Sandra Divack Moss.
Here are other opportunities for getting involved in our Religious School community:
