Klezmer Series
The New York Klezmer Series has been bringing wonderful Klezmer Music and Yiddish Dance to New York City since 2010.
Stephen Wise Free Synagogue joins forces with Aaron Alexander and a huge roster of the world's leading virtuosos in presenting concerts, music and dance workshops, and open jam sessions in an intimate and beautiful setting.

Kidz Klezmer Band of New York $100 members, $350 non-members
A workshop performance group open to all kids 10 - 18 who have at least one year experience on their instrument, can play a chromatic scale, read music or learn well by ear, and play well in a group setting.
5:30 – 7:00 All Ages
Klezmer Workshop $25
We learn common dance forms and their proper rhythms, the common klezmer modes, melodic ornamentation, accompanying parts, and whatever people want to learn. We often will have the concert artist lead the workshop.

Yiddish Dance Class $25
We will learn steps, figures and styles for many of the dances in the Klezmer repertoire: freylachs, bulgar, sher and zhok, to name a few. There will be a special focus on solo and couples improvisation. We will also learn a lot about the history and evolution of Jewish dance.
