Stephen Wise Free Synagogue was formed with the vision that began with one man, Rabbi Stephen S. Wise. While the light of that vision continues to burn very brightly today, we are a congregation of people who come from unique backgrounds, maintain diverse practices, and together have remarkable new aspirations for our very bright future.
We are people of Conservative, Reform, and even Orthodox leanings and we freely share our commonalities and differences of thought and practice in a warm and receptive atmosphere. Our staff, leadership, and congregants alike embrace the fullest range of religious practice, and our prayer, learning, and volunteer opportunities are all programmed to integrate and reenforce a very broad array of membership and leadership.
