One hundred years out, we find ourselves asking: How is the Balfour Declaration relevant to us today? Why was it so important then? Join us for an engaging discussion about the significance of the Balfour Declaration. Learn how was it perceived by both Arabs and Jews, and how the diplomatic recognition of it resonates with the Palestinian Authority and the State of Israel today. One hundred years since the fall of the Ottoman Empire, where do we go from here?
Karen Spira is a PHD candidate at Brandeis University. Her research explores Jewish and Zionist views of child rearing, identity, and education, as well as the effects of state building on orphaned and disadvantaged youth.
This event is free but please RSVP on Eventbrite.
