A signature experience at Stephen Wise Free Synagogue is our two-year Adult B'nai Mitzvah Program. Our current class graduates in spring 2020 (ceremony postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions), and our next class will start in autumn 2020.
If you missed the opportunity to have a bar or bat mitzvah as a child, if you had a bar or bat mitzvah but want to increase your own Jewish knowledge, or if you simply want to join a community of learners every week in deepening your connection to Judaism, Stephen Wise Free Synagogue’s Adult B’nai Mitzvah Program can help you build a foundation of knowledge about our sacred texts and traditions. The program culminates with a special group b’nai mitzvah service.
Rabbi Samantha Natov leads the weekly sessions, with guest teaching from Rabbis Ammiel Hirsch and Shira Gluck and Cantor Dan Singer. These classes are appropriate for students from all walks of life, ages and Jewish backgrounds.
